Privacy policy

DupeIt stores as little about you as it can. You can search, see dupes and browse without an account.
Without an account we store a random device identifier so your daily free dupe checks, scans and questions work, and so we can count how often a perfume is searched. It is not linked to your name or email address.
With an account we store your email address, the perfumes you save, the matches you vote on and rate, and the alerts you subscribe to. Votes and ratings are private: other people only see totals. Comments are public, and so is the display name you sign them with.
Ask and the scanner use AI from Anthropic. When you ask a question, it and the conversation so far are sent to Anthropic to write the reply. When you scan a label, the photo is sent to Anthropic to read it, and DupeIt does not keep the photo. We ask before the first time each one happens, and neither sends your email address or account.
To learn which ads bring people to DupeIt, we use AppsFlyer, an attribution service. It receives a device identifier and a short record of what happens in the app, such as installing it, viewing dupes, saving a perfume, scanning or tapping a buy link, with the perfume involved. It never receives what you type. Your advertising identifier is shared only if you allow tracking when iOS asks, and you can change that in iPhone Settings at any time.
DupeIt Pro is sold and billed by Apple. RevenueCat, the service that tells DupeIt whether you have Pro, receives your purchase history and an account identifier. It also passes your purchases to AppsFlyer, with AppsFlyer’s identifier for this device, so a purchase can be credited to the ad that brought you. We never see your payment details.
Sign-in codes are emailed through Resend. If you allow alerts, Apple delivers them using a push token stored with your account. Our database is hosted by Supabase.
We do not sell your data and DupeIt shows no ads. Each service named here may use your data only to provide its service to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does.
When you tap a buy link you leave the app for that retailer. They may set their own cookies and we may earn a commission. Their privacy policy governs what happens there.
You can delete your account and everything attached to it from Settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It does not cancel a DupeIt Pro subscription, which you manage in your Apple account.
